Cities & Intercultural Physicalities

Intercultural policy-making is becoming a key to generating innovation in cities based on the dynamics of migration. Working with the United Nations University Institute on Globalization, Culture and Mobility (UNU-GCM) in Barcelona, I am evaluating current developments in urban policy-making on interculturalism, within Europe and further afield.

Using my expertise on the nexus of bodies, mobilities and migration – combined with the idea that we cannot think the future of cities and migration successfully without taking into account the physicality and sensoriality of our moving bodies – I am analysing whether and how the intercultural physicalities of movement are reflected in policy documents and actions regarding urban city transformation.
